WILLEMSTAD – August 13, 2017– The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and the Minister of Economic Development, Dr. Steven Martinarecently handed out certificates to 18 lodging establishments and 11 diving operators after they successfully passed an audit program, established by the CTB in close collaboration with the Curaçao Innovation & Technology Institute (CITI). The program is aimed at promoting and maintaining quality among all businesses operating in the island’s tourism industry. In this specific program, businesses in the hospitality and tourism sector are audited based on locally and internationally accepted quality standards.
In this round, certificates were presented to Villa Royale Curaçao, ABC Appartementen, Alablanca Apartments, Passaat Vakantiewoningen, Flamingo Park & Diving, Sunny Curaçao – Blue Bay Lodges, Ananda Wellness Retreat & Conference Center, Appartementen BlouBlou Curaçao, Villa San Sebastian, Ceri Neger Apartments, Alegria Apartments, Don Genaro Curaçao Apartments, B&B Hacienda La Bougainville, Holiday Rentals Curaçao – Villa Hopi Bon, Holiday Rentals Curaçao – Villa Casa Tropical, Holiday Rentals Curaçao – Villa Laman Blou Punda, Curaçao Sun Apartments and Rian Appartementen. Certificates were also handed out to 11 diving operators that had already been audited two years ago in 2015, and were successfully re-audited this year, guaranteeing that all established standards are still met. These are Scubaçao Diving Adventures, Blue Bay Dive and Watersports, Relaxed Guided Dives, Dive’n Curaçao, Twindivers Curaçao, Atlantis Diving, Ocean Encounters Curaçao, The Dive Bus, B Diving & Watersports, Curios 2 Dive andDuikcentrum van de Ven.
Thirty-one lodging establishments offered to tourists were audited in April of 2017, and more accommodations, restaurants and diving operators will follow. Participation in this quality program is completely voluntary. The CTB wishes to congratulate the 18 lodging establishments and 11 diving operators that passed the audit successfully. The certificate is valid for two years. All who own accommodations offered to tourists, as well as diving operators, restaurants, tour-bus operators and taxi drivers who have not already done so, are invited to register by e-mail audit@citi.cw or by calling 738-6299.
