…In preparation of Condor’s First Non-Stop Flight from Frankfurt…
WILLEMSTAD – September 18, 2018 – Germany remains an important market for Curaçao. Despite the loss of the Air Berlin flights in 2017, visitors continue coming to spend their vacations on the island, booking connecting flights through the Netherlands. With the start of the non-stop Condor flights from Frankfurt coming November, this winter season is looking quite promising for Curaçao. The weekly Wednesday flights will continue throughout the 2018-2019 winter season. In line with this, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), together with Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), organized a roadshow in Germany, informing German travel agents on all that Curaçao has to offer, as well as on flight possibilities to the island. Hotel-industry partners were also on site to get travel agents acquainted with their respective hotels.
Over the four days of the roadshow, travel agents received current information about the destination. The roadshow began on September 3 in Frankfurt, moving on to Cologne on September 4, to Hannover on September 5, and ending on September 6 in Berlin. In total, 100 travel agents were provided with up-to-date information on Curaçao that will help them in selling the destination in the upcoming season. Each day started out with a presentation, followed by an interactive Dushi Sup Yoga session and a Caribbean breakfast. At the end of each day, the partners were able to share information on their accommodations, activities and packages in a speed-dating session.
The Travel Agent Reward Program of CAP and CHATA was also introduced to the travel agents. The reward program will be launched this month in the German market. In summer 2019, Curaçao will invite the best producing travel agents and agencies for a Curaçao reward retreat where they will be rewarded for their support and bookings.
