WILLEMSTAD- September 25, 2018- Thirteen young adults have recently graduated as tour guides, after completing an intensive Tourist Guide and Hospitality Course. The course, which began last year in September, was provided by the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) in close collaboration with Reda Sosial, the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Wellbeing, and One Curaçao, which was the Tourist Guide & Hospitality Training certified organization in charge of organizing the course. The young adults between 18 and 33 years of age received an intensive Tourist Guide & Hospitality course. During a special ceremony, the 13 graduates were handed their diplomas by the Prime Minister, Eugene Rhuggenaath, the Minister of Economic Development, Dr. Steven Martina and the Minister of Social Development, Labor and Wellbeing, Hensley Koeiman.
The diplomas handed to these young adults are accredited by the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations. Additionally, these graduates will be the first ones to receive a Blue Badge approved and recognized by the CTB. Most of the graduates are already working in the tourism industry as tourist guides. The CTB is also offering them the opportunity to work as tourist guides with groups arriving from abroad.
The CTB, Reda Sosial, SOAW and One Curaçaowish to congratulate Damaris Sambo, who graduated first in her group, Anaïs Godfried Arundel, Berliza Jansen, Christy Mendes Brazao, Dewi Pomario, Ian de Windt, Jonathan Estanista, Quincy Carolus, Ray de Keyzer, Riangelo Jones, Ryan Quinland, Tyrone Brunken and Amaries-Anne Koeiman on this important milestone. The CTB and its partners’ best wishes go to all graduates in their career as tourist guides.
