…in the Netherlands…
WILLEMSTAD – October 9, 2018 –The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), together with its private-sector partners, recently completed a successful road show in the Netherlands. Curaçao is the most popular Caribbean destination among Dutch travelers, and that is why the CTB organized the road show in this country, to give its hotel-industry partners in Curaçao the opportunity to get travel agents acquainted with all that the island has to offer as a tourist destination.
The team spent three days providing travel agents with up-to-date information on our destination. The first day of the road show was held at the TUI Call Center in Enschede and the Corendon Call Center in Haarlem, with 60 travel agents in attendance. On the next day, a session was held with 30 agents in Breda. On the last day, the team met with 25 travel agents in Hoofddorp and 40 others at the Curaçao House in the Hague. The three days of information sharing were each divided into two parts: Before noon, a number of seminars provided hotel representatives with up-to-date information on the Dutch market, and specifically in connection with business, trends, marketing and public relations. Each afternoon session started with a presentation on Curaçao and a dialogue in which the CTB’s team elaborated on the most memorable Curaçao experiences. The hotels and travel agents in attendance each shared information about the island from their own unique perspective. Next, the travel agents participated in an interactive session named “Dushi SUP Yoga,” followed by a speed-dating session in which each partner had the chance to provide information on its accommodations, activities and packages. At the conclusion, all travel agents received a goody bag with educational materials, as well as a limited edition Curaçao branded gift.
At the event held on the last day of the roadshow at the Curaçao House in the presence of Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Anthony Begina and his team, CTB gave a number of airlines, trade and media partners a token of appreciation for their work and dedication in promoting Curaçao as a destination. The evening was highlighted by local dishes presented by Curaçaoan Chef Justin Niessen, a participant in the Master Chef Holland competition and owner of his own restaurant in the Netherlands. Those in attendance also enjoyed a musical performance by Juni Juliet with, as guest star, Lou Prince.
The CTB wishes to thank Papagayo Beach Resort, Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort Curaçao, Hilton Curaçao, Acoya Curaçao Resort Villas and Spa, Sunscape Curaçao Resort Spa & Casino, Renaissance Curaçao Resort & Casino, Lions Dive and Beach Resort, Avila Beach Hotel, Morena Resort, Amalia Boutique Hotel, Kura Hulanda Village & Spaand Oasis Parcs Coral Estate for their participation, as we look back at a successful road show in the Netherlands.
