WILLEMSTAD- December 8, 2018 – The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) recently participated in the fifth edition of the United Caribbean Business & Trade Fair 2018. The trade fair, organized in Suriname this year by United Business (UB), had approximately 60 different stands and over 8000 visitors. A number of Surinamese and foreign businesses were able to showcase their products and services, and the CTB and its private-sector partners made full use of the occasion to present Curaçao as an ideal destination for both business and pleasure.
Over the three days, the CTB and its partners promoted Curaçao, especially as a destination for group travel in connection with conferences, corporate events and reunions. The participation at the United Caribbean Business & Trade Fair 2018 provided the CTB with a perfect opportunity to launch Curaçao’s new international branding campaign, “Feel it for Yourself,” in that country. Additionally, a billboard with images of the new campaign was launched at a strategic spot on the Saturday of the fair. Private sector partners; Livingstone Jan Thiel Resort and Acoya Curaçao Resort, Villas & Spa were able to show all they have to offer in terms of accommodation. Two Suriname-based travel agencies, Vem’s Tours and Waldo’s Travel, also joined in at the Curaçao stand, presenting their attractive Curaçao packages, and a replica of a typical Curaçaoan Kas di Kunuku (country-side cottage) was used as a theater for a showing of the movie “Tula,” generating excellent feedback.
To breathe life into the “Feel the Rhythm” slogan, which is part of the island’s international branding campaign, the CTB arranged for a conga player to deliver some rhythm at the fair and attract more interest to the Curaçao stand. The CTB wishes to thank its partners: Livingstone Jan Thiel Resort, Acoya Curaçao Resort, Villas & Spa, Vem’s Tours and Waldo’s Travel, for being part of the Curaçao team at this year’s United Caribbean Business & Trade Fair.
