WILLEMSTAD- June 16, 2021 – The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) recently organized a working visit for Colombian wholesalers who are part of the alliance initiated by the CTB under the name ‘Mayoristas Comprometidos de Colombia’ (Committed Colombian Wholesalers) offering attractive packages to Curaçao. The aim of the work visit was to allow them the opportunity to meet with the local private sector and the CTB to discuss ways to increase the travel bookings from Colombia to Curaçao. Twelve Colombian wholesalers participated in the three-day visit.
At their arrival, the wholesalers were picked up in antique cars, giving a fun touch to the occasion. Day 1 of the work visit started off with a dialogue between the wholesalers, representatives of several local sectors such as accommodation, airlines, tour companies and transportation, as well as CTB representatives. The wholesalers shared their experiences now that the world is opening up for travel and the expectations of Colombian travelers. The private-sector representatives, in turn, were able to ask questions to the wholesalers and share what they have to offer. The program also included visits to several local accommodations, city center tours and visits to tourist attractions.
Towards the end of the visit, the wholesalers said they were delighted about having had the opportunity to visit Curaçao and experience the island’s tourism product firsthand. The CTB will continue to invest in this type of exchange, in its efforts to grow the visitor arrivals to Curaçao.
