WILLEMSTAD – February 14, 2025 – The Curaçao Tourist Board is thrilled to report a spectacular start of the year. Stayover arrivals continues to surge in the high season months. The island experienced a solid 20% rise in arrivals compared to January 2024, welcoming an additional 12,398 stayover visitors. In total, Curaçao welcomed 73,289 stayover visitors in the first month of the year. This performance shows a continued demand in arrivals in the peak season, recording over seventy thousand stayover arrivals in a single month.
All regions showed positive performance in January, particularly from South America, a significant 46% increase in performance is recorded. North America, Caribbean and Europe recorded a 25%, 17%, and 6% growth respectively. In absolute numbers, Europe is the region where most of our tourists are travelling from. Information gathered from the Immigration Cards shows the average day spent in Curaçao was 9 nights in January.

The Netherlands: Curaçao welcomed 23,124 visitors from the Netherlands, a 4% increase compared to 22,170 arrivals in January 2024. Most Dutch visitors (58%) chose non-resort accommodations, while 42% stayed at resorts. On average, Dutch visitors stayed for 13 nights during their visit.
United States of America: The USA remains a key market for Curaçao, with a 30% increase in arrivals, reaching 17,708 visitors in January 2025, up from 13,604 in the same month last year. Most American visitors (66%) preferred resort hotels, while 33% opted for other types of accommodations. On average, visitors from the USA stayed for 6.5 nights, with most travelers coming from New York, Florida, New Jersey, Texas, and Georgia.
Canada: Visitor numbers from Canada surged by 10% in January 2025, totaling 6,008 arrivals compared to 5,443 in January 2024. Canadian visitors stayed an average of 10.7 nights, with 51% choosing to stay in resort hotels.
Highlights of January 2025
Curaçao’s tourism industry shows solid stability in the first month of 2025, with the strategic effort to stay consistent in creating awareness in its main markets of focus. This growth highlights the island’s success in creating demand by showing its offerings to come “Feel it for yourself”.
So far Curaçao welcomed 73,289 stayover arrivals, 5,151 day-trippers and 101,826 cruise passengers, welcoming a total of 180,266 arrivals in January 2025.
