…the largest consumer fair in the Netherlands…
WILLEMSTAD- January 11, 2018 – Once again this year, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), together with a number of private-sector partners, is present at the Vakantiebeurs (Vacation Fair) held at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The 2018 Vacation Fair is being held from the 9th to the 14th of January 2018, and is one of the yearly events that the CTB is sure to be a part of each time to promote the island as the #1 tourist destination in the Caribbean. As in previous years, the fair is receiving over 100,000 visitors, all looking for inspiration on how to spend their next vacation, and once again many already visited Curaçao’s stand in these first few days of the event.
Each year, the CTB organizes a special event, lasting the whole week, to attract visitors to the Curaçao stand. This year, visitors were challenged to test their knowledge of Papiamentu by watching clips of locals speaking the language, after which they had to choose the right translation from among four options. The winners receive prizes such as a Seabob experience, a guided tour at Landhuis Chobolobo, a sunset boat trip on the Pelican Express, a trip to Klein Curaçao with BlueFinn Charters and much more. The grand prize is an 8-day trip for two, with accommodations at the Livingstone Jan Thiel Resort.
A theater next to the Curaçao stand offers a daily 1-hour presentation, providing the fair visitors with all reasons to choose Curaçao. In the presentation, young actor Anton de Bies shares his bucket list of activities to do when he returns home to the island, while the private-sector partners too share all they have to offer. And this year again, the Curaçao stand is well equipped with all kinds of information about the “dushi” island. On the first day of the fair, January 9, the CTB organized a special cocktail at which their most valuable partners were recognized.
A special thanks to the private-sector partners who are part of this year’s Curaçao Team: CHATA, Papagayo Curaçao, Livingstone Jan Thiel Resort, ‘t Klooster Boutique Hotel, Quint’s Travelers Inn, Acoya Curaçao Resorts, Villas & Spa, Kontiki Beach Resort, Oasis Coral Estate, Dolphin Suites Curaçao, Scuba Lodge & Ocean Suits, Dolphin Academy Curaçao, Hilton Curaçao, Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino, Hato Caves and BlueFinn Charters Curaçao.
