WILLEMSTAD- October 6, 2021 – The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and representatives of Timmendorfer Strand Niendorf Tourismus GmbH recently renewed the beach partnership between Timmendorfer Strand and Cas Abou Beach, which started back in 2013. The partnership will benefit both tourist destinations, as it opens opportunities for information and knowledge exchange between both beaches, particularly in the areas of sustainability, environmental protection and visitor satisfaction, and for cultural exchanges between the two destinations.
Several actions have been taken place under this agreement. For instance, a Curaçao branded beach chair at the Timmendorfer Strand. Also, together with several local diving-industry partners and German journalist Florian Guthknecht, who visited the island earlier this year, Curaçao participated in the Oceans Days event, with the aim of highlighting the island’s efforts to keep the Caribbean Sea clean. Furthermore, introduction of ‘The Timmendorfer Strand Signature Cocktail’ which was recently presented to German trade media and will be sold at Landhuis Chobolobo in the upcoming weeks.
Various further actions are planned for the coming season, such as promoting the island at events scheduled to take place at the Timmendorfer Strand namely Beach Concerts and German Beach Volleyball Championships finals, Curaçao integration in the “Strandmagazin” with a print run of 50,000, placing ads at Cas Abou Beach promoting Timmendorfer Strand, and an exchange program for German and Curaçaoan students, which will allow them to experience the tourism industry as it operates at both destinations.
The CTB is convinced that this agreement will have added value for the promotion of Curaçao in Germany, which is one of the island’s key markets.
