August 14 and 15
WILLEMSTAD – August 8, 2024 – The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), in close collaboration with CHATA, will organize a National Tourism Conference (NTC) on September 27th, World Tourism Day. The conference will focus on the sustainable growth of the tourism industry for the benefit of the Curaçao community. On August 14 and 15, from 8 AM to 12 PM, the final two pre-conferences will be held as preparation for the NTC. These will cover topics such as community involvement in tourism and strategies to remain competitive both locally and globally. The community is invited to join tourism industry representatives to share ideas and participate in discussions on relevant topics for achieving sustainable growth.
In May and June, the first three pre-conferences were held, focusing on challenges and strengths as a tourist destination, diversity and authenticity. On August 14, the focus will be on community involvement in tourism, raising awareness and participation across all sectors, encouraging youth involvement in tourism planning, and creating more opportunities for local entrepreneurs. On the following day, August 15, strategies for remaining competitive locally and globally will be discussed. Additionally, supporting local entrepreneurs and analyzing barriers that might hinder participation in tourism will be topics for discussion on August 15th. The pre-conferences are intended for tourism industry workers, local entrepreneurs, youth (minimum age 18 years), and anyone interested in contributing to the development of tourism in Curaçao.
The pre-conference sessions will produce preliminary resolutions to be discussed during the conference in September, aiming to reach final resolutions. These final resolutions will be translated into concrete actions. To participate visit: curacaotouristboard.com/NTC2024 and register! The sessions are free of charge!
