Curaçao hosted almost 70,000 stayover visitors in February 2025

WILLEMSTAD – March 14, 2025 – The Curaçao Tourist Board is excited to announce a remarkable beginning to the year. Stayover arrivals continue to rise throughout the high season months. February saw a significant 16% increase in arrivals compared to the same month in 2024, with 9,383 more stayover visitors. In total, Curaçao hosted 69,603 stayover guests in the second month of the year. This strong performance reflects sustained demand during the peak season, with almost seventy thousand stayover visitors arriving in a single month.

All regions showed positive performance in February, particularly from Caribbean, a significant 51% increase in performance is recorded. South America, North America and Europe recorded a 24%, 23%, and 3% growth respectively. In absolute numbers, Europe and North America are the regions where most of our tourists are travelling from. Out of Europe and North America a total of 26,908 and 25,611 tourists visited Curaçao in February. Information gathered from the Immigration Cards shows the average day spent in Curaçao was 11.4 nights in February.

The Netherlands: Curaçao welcomed 22,988 visitors from the Netherlands, a 6% increase compared to 21,782 arrivals in February 2024. Most Dutch visitors (58%) chose non-resort accommodations, while 42% stayed at resorts. On average, Dutch visitors stayed for 15.7 nights during their visit. Twenty-seven percent of the visitors reside in South Holland and 20% in North Holland.

United States of America: The USA continues to be a vital market for Curaçao, showing a 25% growth in arrivals, totaling 19,691 visitors in February 2025, compared to 15,752 in the same month last year. Most American visitors (67%) chose resort hotels, while 33% selected other types of accommodations. On average, U.S. visitors stayed for 8.4 nights, with the largest number residing from New York (17%), Florida (7%), and Georgia (4%).

Canada:  Visitor numbers from Canada surged by 15% in February 2025, totaling 5,920 arrivals compared to 5,131 in February 2024. Canadian visitors stayed an average of 12.9 nights, with 54% choosing to stay in resort hotels. Most Canadians who visited Curaçao in February live in Ontario (53%) and Quebec (26%).

Curaçao’s tourism sector demonstrates strong stability in the first two months of 2025, thanks to a strategic focus on maintaining awareness in its key target markets. This growth underscores the island’s success in generating demand by showcasing its offerings and inviting visitors to “Feel it for yourself.” The island’s strategy of diversifying its primary markets is also reflected in the distribution of top carriers servicing Curaçao. The close margin between the carriers highlights the importance of all partners in sustaining the destination’s tourism success. So far Curaçao welcomed 142,895 stayover arrivals, 8,672 day-trippers and 211,281 cruise passengers, welcoming a total of 362,848 arrivals in the first two months of 2025.
